Couponing is Good for the Community!

In my work as a Financial Educator I often teach classes for people who are living in transitional housing facilities. I like to bring items from my stockpile whenever I can to these locations because I know that they are so badly needed. Here's an example of a small donation I brought with me last week to a shelter for homeless women and their children.

If you are an extreme couponer than you probably have some items that you know you won't be able to use before their expiration date. Why not donate them to an organization that you know will put them to good use? You can also take a tax deduction for the items, just be sure to get a receipt for your donation for tax time. I love being able to help my family and help others at the same time, it's really a win-win for everyone!

That's awesome! Good for you. I donated all the free sample baby formula I received while pg to a woman's shelter. It felt so good to help them out!
