CVS Run - Saved 91%

I wasn't going to buy anything at CVS this week but I decided to go ahead and do the Dove Body Wash deal. I also really like these Neosporin lip products and the $2.89 price was going to end at the end of the month. I was also able to roll over some ECBs (Extra Care Bucks) so that they don't expire until Black Friday! Perfect! Here's the deal...

Bought
3 Dove Body Washes $7 each
2 Neosporin Lip $2.89 each
1 Diet Doctor Pepper $1.55
Total $28.33

Used
1 - $5/$25 from the Flu Quiz
(no longer available)
3- $1.50 off Dove 10/4 SS
1 - $3 off Neosporin
(no longer available, again!)
1 - B1G1 Neosporin Lip -
(Publix Green Advantage Flyer)
.55/1 Dr. Pepper Peelie
Get Back $10 ECE for $20 in Dove
Total = $2.50

Of course I used my reusable bag with the bag tag so I also am another credit closer to getting my $1 in EBC! Click HERE to learn more about the Greenbag Tag.

i had no idea that CVS accepted publix coupons. In fact, I've already on almost every blog that niether CVS or Walgreens accept competetors coupons. has the policy change? is this just your cvs?

Hi Maria, this coupon was actually a manufacturer coupon but it was in the Publix Advantage Flyer. You are 100% correct, if had been a regular publix coupon they wouldn't have taken it. I find that my CVS will take pretty much any manufacturer coupon but they won't take store coupons or Wags register rewards. That would be nice though!

How were you able to do the buy $20 Dove and get $10 ECB back when you used the Dove coupons which brought your total below $20 as far as I can tell? I did a similar deal and saved some, but not as much as you did. I'm new at this and would appreciate any advice:)

Hi Mary Ann,

Yes, it's a little confusing at first buy you'll have the hang of it in no time.

One of the great things about CVS is that the coupons won't effect you as far as getting ECBs. So the 3 Dove Body Washes were $21 (above the $20 requirement). Once I hit that mark I'm going to get the ECBs even though I'm using coupons. The CVS register is going to treat my coupons like cash. So although I used 3- $1.50 coupons and a $5 coupon bringing my total to $11.50 I'm still going to get the $10 ECBs. Great huh!

One thing to keep in mind is that your store may still tax you on the coupons(states differ). So in my state I still would have to pay tax on the $21. (But still a great deal!) I hope that helped. :-)

Yes, thanks so much! I can see where I went wrong. I still saved a lot off orignial price, but not as much as I could have. There's always next week and I have $6 ECB to start with :)
